Survey shows 55% of young Americans have found a product they “can’t live without” on social media

Influencers like Kim Kardashian get paid millions to hawk products online, but it seems it’s not just celebrities spurring their followers to try new products.

A new non-scientific survey sponsored by skincare brand CeraVe shows that 55% of 2,000 Americans aged 18-40 have discovered products on social media that they now “can’t live without.”

The poll revealed that they’ve found ads for everything from phone apps to underwear so appealing that not only have they tried the products, they’ve also found they didn’t know how they got along without them.

Thirty-nine percent of respondents say they’ve tried a new skincare regimen or product after seeing it on their socials. More than a third of those polled say a phone app they saw online had “life-changing” attributes, and a quarter say they’ve found their favorite underwear or lingerie after spotting it while surfing their socials.
