A delivery man making his rounds in Portsmouth, England lived up to his job title when he found himself helping a woman deliver her baby.
Metro reports that Perry Ryan was making his rounds when he heard screaming that sounded “like someone was being murdered.”
It turned out that Bakhan Shoker’s water had broken and she was going into labor in the hallway by her front door while her husband was out.
The quick-thinking delivery man phoned paramedics and tried to comfort the woman before relaying the EMTs’ instructions over the phone when her partner arrived home — just in time for the baby’s arrival. The child was named Bella.
Ryan said afterwards, “I was shaking — it was mad what happened. I had to sit down for five minutes after it all — I was in shock.”
“I missed some of my delivery slots,” he added.
