Don’t get mad, some say — get even. And before you do, get your victim’s car keys.
In an effort to get back at an ex-boyfriend, a woman in eastern China, identified only as Lou, crafted an elaborate plan to rent her ex’s Audi and purposely commit traffic violations while driving it, Global Times reports.
To pull it off, Lou remained three degrees away from the plan. She promised a man named Zhu, who was pursuing her, that she would go on a date with him if he helped her get her revenge on her ex. Zhu then had an acquaintance named Chen rent the vehicle for him from Lou’s ex.
Zhu and Chen then went on a two-day driving spree, racking up violations, 49 of them for running red lights and one for speeding, FR24News reports. The idea, apparently, was that Lou’s ex would be on the hook for all of the traffic tickets.
Alas, the plan backfired — each member of the trio has either been detained or arrested.
