The Klickitat County Sheriff’s Office is announcing its participation in “Operation Dry Water” from July 2nd 2021 through July 4th 2021.
“Operation Dry Water” is a national boating under the influence heightened awareness and enforcement campaign with the goal of removing impaired operators from the water and raising awareness of the dangers of boating under the influence.
During “Operation Dry Water” deputies with the Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol Unit will target impaired boat operators on the water ways across Klickitat County. The Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol Unit patrols the various waters using the Sheriff’s Office Patrol Boat, as well as the Sheriff’s Office Personal Water Craft.
Sheriff Songer wants to ensure that the public has a safe boating experience and wants to remind the public that operating a boat while under the influence of drugs or alcohol is a crime. Sheriff Songer wants to thank the members of the Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol Unit for their dedication and efforts in keeping the public safe.
