Missing Texas woman found in Florida storm drain

A woman who went missing in A Grand Prairie, Texas claims she spent three weeks in a Delray Beach, Florida sewer system.

Lyndsey Kennedy told Delray Beach police back in March that she went swimming in a canal near her boyfriend’s house and wandered through tunnels before getting lost.

Kennedy’s family tells WPEC-TV that a week after checking into a rehab facility in Texas, the 43-year-old woman wandered off and was reported missing by local police.

A friend of Kennedy says Grand Prairie police spotted the missing woman near a creek, but she slipped into a nearby storm drain when authorities tried to approach her.

Luckily, a tracking app on Kennedy’s cell phone allowed her family to ping her last location before entering the underground system and they began their search.

On Saturday night, Kennedy’s mother Jane says her daughter climbed out of a six-foot drain pipe and was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was placed under a psychiatric hold.

According to family, Kennedy suffers from psychosis and PTSD after years in an abusive relationship.
