People will do anything for fame, like flirt with death. One YouTuber nearly lost his life because he — get this — jumped off a 100-foot tall bridge. Oh, he also recorded the whole thing.
YouTuber Saa Emmanuel Fomba limped away with a fractured skull after plummeting from the Pennybacker Bridge that overlooks Texas’ Colorado River last week.
Saa’s friends filmed him scaling the large metal structure and dancing on the top before he took a leap of faith — hitting the water with a thunderous clap. The force of his fall was so severe, he nearly drowned because he lost the ability to swim after coming up for air. The video catches him screaming “Help! Help me, please!”
Thankfully, a boat was nearby and managed to drag him aboard so he could catch his breath.
Saa later admitted he landed on his back — a back flop — and was rushed to the hospital after complaining of head pain.
“I fractured part of my skull, bleeding a little bit. Then, I have a tube running through my chest,” he told the camera, saying the whole thing was “worth it” — probably because he thinks he’s going to get famous.
However, commentators are feeding Saa a hearty piece of humble pie and are requesting a video update of his itemized hospital bill because it sounded like his stay at the emergency room wasn’t cheap.
“You might see it as jumping for views, but I see more. I wasn’t built for just normal, I’m a dream chaser, I don’t settle for less, I will leave my mark on this planet we call earth our home,” the 17-minute video’s description reads. “Chase yours and leave your mark.”
Considering this guy almost left his mark on this year’s Darwin Awards — maybe don’t take his advice.
