This distance is based on modern measurements—including precision data from the Gaia space telescope—which have established the distance at roughly \(447 \pm 1\) light-years. Earlier estimates and historic satellite data occasionally placed the triple-star system closer or farther away (ranging between 323 and 434 light-years), but ongoing modern astrometry confirms the system sits just under 450 light-years away.
