Florida was the scene of a catastrophe when a herd of loose cows lumbered onto the highway and created an udder mess.
WESH reports a tractor-trailer carrying the cattle caught fire as it was traveling northbound on the Florida Turnpike. To save the animals from smoke inhalation, the driver pulled over and let the stampede loose. Unfortunately, that meant a bunch of bovines flooded the interstate, snarling the Monday morning commute.
Police and firefighters both responded and put out the fire engulfing the truck. Police also herded the dozens of cows to safety, which shut down the highway for several hours.
Neither the driver nor the dozens of cows were injured. The cause of the truck fire remains under investigation.
