Sound Transit moves toward lighter fare enforcement

SULTAN, Wash. (AP) — Authorities say a pedestrian was hit by a train and killed northeast of Seattle near Sultan along U.S. 2. The Daily Herald reports Sultan Police Department officers and Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies responded around 1 p.m., said Chief Seth Johnson of Snohomish County Fire District 5. The man died at the scene. The train was stopped during an investigation.
