Illinois woman bombarded with unwanted shoes on doorstep

Apparently you can have too many shoes — at least, that’s the issue one Illinois woman is having after she keeps receiving unwanted stacks of footwear.

“I can’t get it to stop and it’s really funny because of the shoes themselves, they’re just hilariously not my style,” Simone Boutet tells Chicago’s ABC7 of the shoes, which include white go-go boots, velvet stilettos, pink combat boots and more.

“And it just, it doesn’t stop. It’s absurdity. You know, it’s an absurdity,” she says.

As for why the shoes are being sent to her home, turns out the shoes are from customers trying to return to an Amazon seller out of China. That vendor’s return address label says “RETURNS DEPARTMENT” and “Simone” on Elm Street in Chicago, which is also not a shoe return center.

Hopefully, the problem’s about to be solved. ABC7 reports they contacted Amazon, and were told they’ve apologized to Simone and “have also asked the shoe seller to make the appropriate corrections on their end.”
