Customer demands refund after ice cream was delivered, well, cold

No one likes when a hot meal gets delivered cold, but what about when a cold dish gets served, well, cold? Apparently, that’s a reason enough to complain and get a refund.

Hassan Habib, the man behind Lucky’s Diner in the U.K., listed his establishment on Just Eat — a food delivery service similar to Uber Eats — but had to stop using the platform in response to a user who was refunded after complaining their ice cream was cold.

“They ordered four milkshakes, a cheesecake, and an ice cream and 45 minutes later they put in a refund request because the food was cold,” Hassan Habib, the man behind Lucky’s Diner, explained to Manchester Evening News. He also makes it clear he believes the complaint wasn’t genuine, but rather a semi-clever dodge to get free food.

“That’s just one of the many examples,” Habib added. “They just order food, put down ‘X, Y, Z’ is wrong with it, do a refund and leave us to the costs.”

Just Eat is currently working with Habib to address the concern.
