BPA selects Jamae Hilliard Creecy as vice president of Energy Efficiency

Portland, Oregon – The Bonneville Power Administration has selected Jamae Hilliard Creecy to be its vice president of Energy Efficiency. Hilliard Creecy served as BPA’s acting vice president of Energy Efficiency between March and July of last year and has also held management positions across the agency in Power Services, Transmission Services and Environment, Fish and Wildlife. Hilliard Creecy begins her new position May 23.

“Jamae brings a wealth of experience from all corners of the agency and is committed to collaborating, meeting new challenges and delivering results for BPA and the region,” said Administrator and CEO John Hairston. “I’m excited to have her lead our ongoing efforts to acquire and advance energy efficiency in the Northwest, which is a fundamental low-cost and clean resource for our region.”

At the helm of BPA’s EE organization, Hilliard Creecy will be responsible for overseeing development, implementation and advancement of energy efficiency programs. These include BPA’s energy efficiency acquisition initiatives, market transformation efforts, demand response and other EE market development activities. This work helps BPA meet its obligation to acquire and encourage development of energy efficiency and maximize the value of the Federal Columbia River Power System.

Hilliard Creecy has worked for Bonneville for more than 18 years and has a wide range of energy sales, operations and marketing experience. She most recently served as a member of BPA’s Bulk Marketing management team developing strategic direction, meeting obligations of BPA’s short- and long-term contracts and leading development and delivery of a new Energy Trade Risk Management system. Hilliard Creecy served as a member of the Transmission Scheduling Management team between 2011 and 2016, ensuring compliance with the Open Access Transmission Tariff and leading new procedures to more effectively reserve, monitor and report transmission transactions. From 2008 to 2011, she served as the Policy and Planning manager for BPA’s Environment, Fish and Wildlife division, where she set policy priorities and program goals, and developed operating guidance to ensure compliance with biological opinions, the Columbia Basin Fish Accords and other statutory responsibilities.

Born and raised in Corvallis, Oregon, Hilliard Creecy received her Master of Public Administration from Portland State University and a Bachelor of Science from Oregon State University. Hilliard Creecy lives with her husband and their three daughters in Portland. She enjoys horse riding and outdoor activities.
