On January 26th, 2021 at about 7:16 PM, Deputy Dwayne Matulovich made contact with a vehicle at the Murdock Mini Mart in Murdock. Deputy Matulovich was called there for a shoplift complaint. The vehicle, a 2006 Honda Accord, was checked through dispatch and determined to be stolen from Toppenish on January 25th.
At first the occupants of the vehicle refused to come out of the vehicle. Finally the occupants came out of the vehicle and the driver, identified as John David Eneas, was arrested. Eneas had several outstanding warrants for his arrest. Eneas claimed a backpack that was in the vehicle. A firearm was later found in the backpack. Eneas is a convicted felon.
After further investigation, it was determined that Eneas was also the suspect in the shoplifting call at the Murdock Mini Mart.
Eneas was booked into the Klickitat County Jail on the warrants. Several charges are being submitted to the Klickitat County Prosecutor’s Office. The passenger was released without charges.
