VILLAGERS KNIT LIFE-SIZED TRAFFIC COPS TO SLOW DOWN SPEEDERS

People in the English village of Fillongley were having trouble with speeding drivers cruising through town and putting pedestrians at risk, so they came up with a creative solution.

The local “Knit and Natter” crafting club spent four months stitching together realistic-looking traffic cop mannequins. These knitted traffic cops are wearing high-visibility vests and holding mock speed guns — and are located beneath speed limit signs.

Local leaders say they are already seeing fooled motorists hit the brakes. And townspeople are praising everyone involved for creating the clever, yarn-crafted security team, who were able to turn a serious safety issue into a fun local success everyone can celebrate.
