COMMUNITY DONATES 6000 POUNDS OF PET FOOD TO LOCAL SHELTERS

Animals across Kentucky and southern Illinois are getting a serious treat this week thanks to a local sheriff’s office and a generous community.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office just wrapped up its annual “Paws for a Cause” donation drive, bringing in a whopping 6000 pounds of dog and cat food and heaps of other pet supplies.

Deputy Melissa Dillon teamed up with local farm store Rural King and popular spots like Chick-fil-A and Texas Roadhouse to collect wet food, kibble, and essentials for shelters in the area. She said the drive keeps growing bigger every year and offered a huge thank you to all the pet-loving neighbors who stepped up to fill the bowls of four-legged friends in need.
