Worst Fake Teacher of the Year

A Wisconsin woman is facing felony charges after allegedly pulling off the world’s worst career day.

Authorities say 23-year-old Amy Jones walked into her former Milwaukee high school pretending to be a substitute teacher. She spent nearly three class periods insulting students, using profanity, making inappropriate comments, and generally acting like someone who definitely wasn’t on the lesson plan.

Students say she called one teen “fat boy,” asked another if she wanted to be a stripper, and even grouped students by race and gender while making offensive remarks. The ruse came to an end when school administrators caught on and had her escorted out.

Police say Jones later admitted she went to the school because she was bored and wanted to “mess around.” Officials say she got lucky because several teachers had called out sick that day, creating an opening she apparently treated like a casting call. She’s now facing six felony charges, including impersonating a public employee. In other words, it may be the first case where someone got arrested for taking “fake it till you make it” way too literally. (The Independent)
