Michael Douglas is revealing some of the most personal and turbulent episodes of his life in his new memoir, One Helluva Ride, released October 6th. The 82-year-old Oscar winner writes about affairs, drug use, family struggles and his decades-long Hollywood career.
Among the revelations, Douglas confirms he had a secret relationship with Romancing the Stone co-star Kathleen Turner while separated but still married to Diandra Douglas. He also says he became romantically involved with Jeanne Tripplehorn while filming Basic Instinct.
Douglas recounts extensive drug use, including taking LSD more than 100 times, and discusses his later struggles with addiction. He also describes a drunken confrontation with Julia Roberts, his difficult relationship with father Kirk Douglas and son Cameron Douglas’ years in prison on drug charges.
The actor also reflects on surviving Stage 4 tongue cancer in 2010, saying the experience changed his priorities and strengthened his focus on family. (People)
