A Florida man is facing DUI charges after his own mother alerted police to YouTube videos she said showed him intoxicated and making threats.
She told police where to find her son and officers tracked down 37-year-old Thomas Leininger in Vero Beach. They stopped him after seeing him make an illegal U-turn. According to police, Leininger showed signs of alcohol impairment, admitted to having “a few shots,” and struggled with field sobriety tests. Officers said he later told them he had been “taking shots all day long,” and breath tests registered more than twice the legal limit.
Leininger was arrested, charged with DUI, and later pleaded no contest. He was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and court costs. The case also serves as another example of how content posted online can attract the attention of both viewers and law enforcement. (Motor Biscuit)
