Police in the Denver area got an unusual call last week from someone reporting a military tank rolling through a neighborhood, and officers thought it was a good idea to check it out.
It turns out the tank, which was carrying a local resident named Mark Dias, was being filmed for an HBO reality series. Dias was holding a sign reading “Make Me Move It,” and it was part of a stunt for Neighbors, a show documenting an ongoing dispute between Dias, a neighbor, and the local homeowners association.
Before police arrived, a resident was so freaked out about seeing a tank that they came outside with a gun. Luckily no one was injured and no arrests were made. Dias says neighbors were aware of the filming, though some residents say they had no idea a tank would be involved. Police are now looking into whether proper media releases were signed, and city officials say they have found no evidence that filming permits were obtained for the stunt. (CBS News)
