Just like her album title implies, Carly Pearce is an Honest Woman — and she showed just how honest she can be in a very vulnerable Instagram post.
Carly starts off by saying that what fans see on stage is a highlight reel. She then drives the point home by removing her hair extensions, pointing out that she has false eyelashes and adding that she’s wearing a ton of make-up.
But the message isn’t that female artists have to do a lot to look the way they do on stage. The message, according to Carly, is this: “If we were all more real, we would probably be more connected.”
