The Port of Hood River is inviting the community to review and comment on its draft 2026–2032 Strategic Business Plan before the plan is finalized.
The Strategic Business Plan will guide Port priorities, investments, operations and projects over the next several years. The draft addresses the Port’s major areas of responsibility, including industrial and commercial properties, Ken Jernstedt Airfield, the Marina Basin, waterfront recreation and the Hood River–White Salmon Bridge.
The draft identifies 10 strategic objectives centered on financial sustainability, economic and business development, airport operations and growth, Marina improvements and development, waterfront recreation, community partnerships and dependable cross-river transportation.
Community input has been an important part of the planning process. Since work began in April, the Port and its consultant, Points Consulting, have conducted stakeholder interviews, focus groups, public work sessions and a community open house. A bilingual community survey conducted from June 9 through August 3 received 1,766 responses.
The draft Strategic Business Plan is available below and at www.portofhoodriver.com. Comments may be submitted through September 30, 2026 by emailing [email protected].
Public feedback will be considered as the plan is finalized and prepared for future consideration by the Port Commission.
