In a case of “what did you think was going to happen?,” a live animal got loose at a FedEx store when a customer opened a box labeled “live animal.”
Roderick Duncan tells WMC that he arrived at a FedEx store in Memphis, Tennessee, to pick up a package containing the pet iguana that he ordered.
According to Duncan, the workers asked him to open the box, which, again, had the words “live animal” printed on it, to see what’s inside.
“I was like, ‘You sure?'” Duncan says. “It was, ‘Yeahhh,’ and I was like, ‘Okay.'”
In a shocking turn of events, the iguana, named Titan, slipped out of the box and starting running around the store, startling the employees.
“He was bigger, way bigger than I expected,” Duncan says. “So it was a shock to me when he took off runnin’. I probably could have grabbed him, but it shocked me too. So he just got loose in the facility; everybody was laughing.”
Eventually Titan was safely corralled, but we’re guessing it might be awhile before the Memphis FedEx store employees ask someone to open a “live animal” box again.
