Home Depot’s Skelly may be the king of starting Halloween early

If you’re one of those folks who hates it that Christmas decorations start appearing in stores in October, this is either payback — or equally ridiculous.

Move over, “Christmas in July” and “Summerween” — it’s time for “Halloween in April,” as Home Depot kicks off the countdown to creepy season with the return of its viral Halloween collection, including its popular oversized “Skelly” figures.

The home improvement retailer has launched its “Halfway to Halloween” collection 205 days ahead of the holiday, featuring 14 larger-than-life pieces, including a 5.5-foot Grave & Bones LED Skeleton Pony and a 9-foot Grave & Bones Giant-Sized LED T-Rex.

The iconic 12-foot Skelly figure, which was first introduced in 2020, is also returning with some upgrades, such as servo motor movement, 20 different eye options, and a feature that lets a user record voices and adjust voice modulation with a phone app.

These aren’t exactly cheap, however. A 6.5-foot LED Pumpkin Vine Creature or a slightly shorter LED skeleton pony that stands at 5.5 feet will run you $129.

The most expensive pieces — a giant T-rex with illuminated red eyes, a hearse or an animated LED Knight Frostbane — retail for $399.
