Without a Paddle 2: On the run

A suspect found himself up a river without a paddle, but the local police definitely had at least two.

According to Florida’s Volusia Sheriff’s Office, deputies were questioning the suspect, 28-year-old Chase Cruz, when he took off running.

Cruz then hopped in the the nearby Halifax River, whereupon a deputy and a Daytona Beach Shores police officer got out paddleboards and paddled out into the water to apprehend him.

After being brought back to dry land, Cruz was charged with resisting arrest, and loitering and prowling.
