Riders of the Staten Island Railway were definitely not giving thanks when their commutes were interrupted by wild turkeys.
According to the New York Daily News, a train came to a stop after turkeys were spotted on the tracks.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority tells the Daily News that the turkeys eventually flew away after multiple train horn blasts.
About an hour and half later, another train was blocked by turkeys, causing further delays. Those birds also eventually fled the scene thanks to the train horn.
If it was an NYC Subway train, maybe the turkeys would’ve scattered faster. They probably wouldn’t want to be turned into a turkey Subway sandwich.
