In addition to tying hair, hair ties are really great at tying up cats’ stomachs.
That’s what a Florida animal rescue organization found out when they took in a cat that was suffering a mysterious blockage.
“Shortly after surgery we were told what caused the blockage,” the rescue writes in a Facebook post. “26 hair ties. Yes, you read that right. Twenty. Six.”
“Ever wondered where all your hair ties disappear to?” the post continues. “Sometimes they end up in places you would never imagine. Like your pet’s stomach.”
After having the hair ties removed, the cat, named Midnite, has been recovering and “RAVENOUSLY attacking her bowl the moment it’s put down.”
The post is accompanied by a photo of Midnight licking her lips, as if to say, “I can’t wait to eat more hair ties.”
“Please keep small objects out of reach and always keep an eye on what your pets might be getting into,” the post concludes. “It can save a life.”
