Adventist Health Columbia Gorge reopens clinics following Water’s Edge storm closure

Dec. 24, 2025 (The Dalles, Oregon) — Just three business days after extensive storm damage closed its largest clinic building, Adventist Health Columbia Gorge reopened about 80% of its affected clinical services on Dec. 22 by relocating them to its other facilities in The Dalles and Hood River. That included the reopening of Immediate Care, which served more than 20 patients on its first day at its new location in the Family Medicine clinic building at 1620 E. 12th St.

Internal Medicine is reopening in the Columbia Crest building on Monday, Dec. 29, while plans for the ENT (Ears, Nose, and Throat) Clinic are still being determined.

“The way our staff and providers responded is nothing short of heroic,” said Nick Dills, administrative director of clinical operations for Adventist Health Columbia Gorge. “From phones and computers to exam tables and office supplies, they had to source and move everything for multiple clinics.”

One important source was sister hospital Adventist Health Portland, which sent loads of equipment to The Dalles to support the relocated clinics. “We were able to send a number of pieces of equipment, including a high-low table, bike ergometer, exercise benches, etc. to help Adventist Health Columbia Gorge establish rehabilitation therapy treatment rooms in the hospital to continue seeing outpatients,” explained Larry Soule, Adventist Health Portland rehabilitation services administrative director.

Adventist Health Oregon Network President Kyle King visited The Dalles Tuesday, Dec. 23, to view the Water’s Edge damage and see the rapid redeployment of clinical services firsthand.

Patients are encouraged to reach out to the clinics if they have questions about scheduling their appointments. As of today, the automated appointment reminder system and MyChart patient portal have not updated with the new clinic locations, so patients are encouraged to reach out to their clinics. The clinic phone and fax numbers are unchanged.

The Water’s Edge building owner is managing the repairs. A temporary roof has secured the building from the elements, and remediation has begun. The date for reopening has not been determined.
