Seahawks’ Hall suspended 1 game without pay for unnecessary roughness and unsportsmanlike conduct

RENTON, Wash. (AP) — Seattle Seahawks linebacker Derick Hall has been suspended one game without pay for an act of unnecessary roughness and unsportsmanlike conduct in a 38-37 overtime win against the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night. The NFL announced the suspension on Friday. The 24-year-old stepped on the leg of Rams guard Kevin Dotson at the end of a play in the first quarter while he was on the ground. The NFL said that was in violation of two rules. Hall will be eligible to return on December 29, a day after Seattle’s game against the Carolina Panthers.

Special teams players have been the unsung heroes of the Seahawks’ successful season

RENTON, Wash. (AP) — Much has gone right for the Seattle Seahawks as they have raced out to a 12-3 start to the season, one in which they are a win away from tying the franchise record for victories in a season. One aspect of Seattle’s success that has flown under the radar has been its special teams units. The Seahawks are among the league’s leaders in various categories, whether it’s average yards per punt or kick return, made field goals or touchdowns. Rashid Shaheed, who the Seahawks acquired from the Saints prior to the trade deadline, has been a catalyst in the return game.
