A seal refused to have its fate as orca food sealed.
Video shared by the CBC shows a seal hop onto a moving boat to avoid a pod of orcas on the hunt.
Smith Siromaskul, one of the people on the boat, describes the moment as “likely to be the single most unique wildlife encounter I’ll ever have.”
Footage shows the seal hanging out on the boat with what Siromaskul calls “big puppy dog eyes” before eventually jumping ship and back into the water.
Don’t be surprised if this inspires a new sea shanty, “A Seal-er’s Life.”
