No. 6 Oregon survives lackluster performance with 21-7 win over Wisconsin
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Jordon Davison rushed for a pair of touchdowns and No. 6 Oregon overcame a slow start to hand Wisconsin its sixth straight loss with a 21-7 victory on a rainy Saturday night. Dante Moore threw for just 86 yards for the Ducks, who didn’t score their first touchdown until late in the opening half. He left the game with an apparent face injury in the third quarter. Wisconsin avoided its third straight shutout with Hunter Simmon’s 2-yard touchdown pass to Lance Mason with 7:57 to go in the game. The touchdown snapped a drought of 11 straight quarters without a point for the Badgers.
Denzel Boston’s big day helps Washington beat No. 23 Illinois and match its 2024 win total
SEATTLE (AP) — Denzel Boston threw and caught a touchdown pass, and finished with career highs of 10 catches and 153 receiving yards to lead Washington to a 42-25 victory over No. 23 Illinois on Saturday. Boston, who entered the game 10th in the Big Ten in receiving yards, put the Huskies (6-2, 3-2 Big Ten) up for good at 21-17 with a 12-yard TD pass to Jonah Coleman on a trick play with 40 seconds remaining in the first half. Demond Williams Jr., who tossed four touchdown passes, threw a backward pass to Boston. The junior wideout promptly threw the ball across the field to a wide-open Coleman.
Zevi Eckhaus accounts for 3 TDs as Washington State beats Toledo 28-7
PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — Zevi Eckhaus threw two touchdown passes and opened the scoring with a 7-yard TD run to help Washington State beat Toledo 28-7. Eckhaus was 10-of-22 passing for 159 yards with two interceptions and added a game-high 74 yards rushing on 15 carries. Kirby Vorhees finished with 62 yards rushing for Washington State (4-4) and his 6-yard touchdown run capped the scoring with 2:21 to play. Tony Freeman caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Eckhaus that capped an 11-play, 80-yard drive with 4:00 left in the second quarter and Eckhaus threw a 35-yard TD pass to Cater Pabst that made it 21-0 with 51 second left. Junior Vandeross III caught a 24-yard touchdown pass from Tucker Gleason and Toledo (4-4) trailed 21-7 at halftime.
