On July 29, 2025 The Dalles Police responded to a storage unit on West 6th Street in The Dalles Oregon. A caller reported a suspicious circumstance and responding officers determined that there was sufficient information to warrant a Mid-Columbia Major Crimes Team call out. The Mid-Columbia Major Crimes Team consists of investigators from The Dalles Police Department, the Wasco County Sheriff’s Department, the Hood River Police Department, The Gilliam County Sheriff’s Department, the Hood River County Sheriff’s Department, the Sherman County Sheriff’s Department and the Oregon State Police. The Mid-Columbia Major Crimes Team is supported by the Wasco County District Attorney in this case. The Klickitat County Washington Sheriff’s Department is also directly involved in this case.
The Oregon State Police Crime Lab responded to The Dalles and assisted in the opening of a storage box that was located within the storage locker. Human remains were located and transported to the Oregon Medical Examiner’s office in Clackamas for autopsy and identification.
The remains were positively identified as those of Meihong, He (Last, First) known as “Kiki”. She was a 20-year-old resident of the Mid-Columbia area and originally from China. Her next of kin have been informed of her death.

Since the discovery of the remains, detectives have been working collaboratively on leads and following up on tips. A person of interest was developed and follow up investigation was completed in California, Washington, Utah, Nevada and Colorado.
The Mid-Columbia Major Crimes Team identified a person of interest in this case, Richard Michael Robinson “Mike”, a 59-year-old white male from The Dalles, who also spent time in Klickitat County Washington.
On 08-25-25 Robinson was arrested by the United States Marshall’s Service in Berthoud Colorado on a warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. He is lodged in the Larimer County Jail pending extradition to Oregon.
