As the Maryland Lottery reports, a man from Philadelphia had purchased a lottery ticket while on the road in Baltimore County, and promptly forgot about it as it disappeared into the black hole where things left in the car tend to go. Over a week later, he decided to spruce up the inside of his ride and found the bag containing the ticket.
Scanning it on the Maryland Lottery app revealed that the ticket, which the man had nearly thrown out, was worth $50,000.
“I was ecstatic when I realized I won,” says the anonymous winner, known only by the nickname “Philly Jawn.” “I hope this is the first of many wins.”
