City of The Dalles: Water Use Advisory Lifted

A water use advisory was issued on July 5 due to the National Weather Service Excessive Heat Warning. Temperatures were expected to exceed 100° F from July 5 to July 11. The high daily temperature forecast remained above 90° F for another week so the advisory was extended until July 17, 2024.

This type of weather would not normally present any challenges for the City’s water system. However, one of the City’s three wells that are used to meet summer demands, the Lone Pine Well, was out of service due to an unexpected mechanical failure. To avoid any water supply challenges, City water customers were encouraged to minimize or avoid unnecessary outdoor water use.

Repairs to the Lone Pine Well are now complete. Thank you for temporarily minimizing water use. The City water system has returned to normal summer operations.

The City of The Dalles water use advisory has been lifted.

Chenowith Water PUD customers were not affected by the water supply advisory.
