Fear may be the mind killer, but this strange sea creature was a good-time killer.
The New York Post reports that a group of people visiting a U.K. beach found a frightening, worm-like critter with circular lines of teeth, like a smaller but still all-too-real version of the sandworms from the Dune movies.
After photos made the rounds on Facebook, the creature was identified as a sea lamprey, which is sometimes called the “vampire fish” due to its parasitic nature.
While the sea lamprey does bear a resemblance to the sandworms of Arrakis, it probably won’t be getting its own popcorn bucket anytime soon.
