An Australian gardener is looking for help identifying what he describes as an “alien-like” object growing from a eucalyptus tree in their backyard.
“What is growing in my tree? I have this ugly-looking thing growing in my gum tree. I assume it is a nest of some kind of insect,” they wrote on Reddit, according to the Daily Mail. “Could anyone tell me what it is and what is likely to happen when it hatches?”
The responses ranged from various types of wasp nests, to a nest for caterpillars.
The post also drew some funny reactions, including, “Don’t want to be around when that sucker hatches. Be like a scene from Alien.”
Another suggested the gardener, “Burn it with fire.”
