SALEM, Ore. – Rep. Hoa Nguyen (D-East Portland and Damascus), a first-term legislator,
current school board member, and the daughter of Vietnamese refugees, finished a successful
conclusion of the 2024 legislative session, marking significant accomplishments in line with her
mission to serve the communities she represents in Salem. Key wins include bringing necessary
resources back to the district, expanding childcare for working families, making communities
safer, and taking important steps to address the housing and homelessness crisis in Oregon.
“I’m proud of what I was able to accomplish for the communities I represent,” said Nguyen.
“While navigating the complexities of policymaking, I’ve celebrated many victories and worked
with stakeholders to address challenges. As I reflect on my first short session, I am fueled with
excitement and determination to return for the 2025 session, armed with newfound knowledge
and a commitment to better serve my district.”
