WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) issued the following statement after an outage of the Federal Aviation Administration Notice of Air Missions (NOTAM) system.
“The number one priority is safety. As the Committee prepares for FAA reauthorization legislation, we will be looking into what caused this outage and how redundancy plays a role in preventing future outages. The public needs a resilient air transportation system,” Sen. Cantwell said.
Sen. Cantwell serves as chair of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation.
