Australian model and swimwear designer Sahara Ray, who gained attention for her rumored romance with Justin Bieber, died Sunday. She was 34.
“She passed away last night surrounded by family at the hospital. She was so loved,” her family told TMZ. A cause of death has not been officially confirmed.
Ray built a substantial social media following and launched her own swimwear brand, Sahara Ray Swim. She made headlines in 2016 after being photographed vacationing with Bieber in Hawaii. She was also romantically linked to Australian singer Cody Simpson.
The daughter of professional surfer Tony Ray, she revealed in 2024 that she had developed Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that left her partially paralyzed following a serious car accident.
Ray welcomed a daughter, Snow, in January.
