STRANGER RESCUES BRIDE AND GROOM WITH OFF-ROAD ADVENTURE

Erich Thalacker and Kyla Dickey had spent months preparing for their wedding at South Fork Lodge in Lowman, Idaho. But on the day they were supposed to say, “I do,” they were dealing with a big problem. A car accident closed the freeway, cutting off their route back to the lodge. With the ceremony approaching and an estimated four-hour wait, the couple needed a way around the closure.

That’s when a wedding hero named Garrett Kerr stepped up to save the day. Garrett was able to help Erich and Kyla ride around the 16-mile traffic backup using his small electric pit bike and an all-terrain vehicle offered up by another good Samaritan on the scene, a woman named Jessica.

While their hair was a little messy from the wild ride in the wind, Erick and Kyla reached the lodge in time for the ceremony.

When Erich finally stood at the altar, looking at Kyla, he wasn’t feeling stressed. Quite the opposite. As he explained, “I remember just, like, looking at her and seeing the mountain backdrop and just being like, ‘This is awesome! Like, this is my wife. We’re gonna live a long, awesome life together. We love each other, and it’s gonna be great.’”
