A youth baseball organization in Florida is making an impact off the field by delivering brand-new sports equipment to a children’s shelter. The Florida Keys Bull Sharks brought $2000 worth of gear directly to the Florida Keys Children’s Shelter, giving young residents the stuff they need to stay active, play as a team, and chase their sports dreams.
The Bull Sharks are best known for their travel baseball teams — but the organizers are also dedicated to charity work in the community. They’ve paid for kids to attend high school sporting events, as well as supported recreational leagues and youth programs in the area.
This donation was another great effort to help kids stay active, even though they’re going through some bumpy times. As the shelter’s CEO Ben Kemmer explained, “Many children who come to the shelter are already involved in athletics or have dreams of becoming athletes. This generous donation will help provide them with the equipment and encouragement they need to pursue those goals.”
