Police say a shirtless man was spotted crawling through the ceiling of a Macy’s, knocking out tiles, lights and wiring while employees watched in disbelief. Officers spent more than an hour trying to talk the attic goblin down, even setting up a ladder and a mattress below. When the suspect finally started climbing down, he suddenly decided the ceiling life was still for him and tried scrambling back up. But that plan came crashing down, literally, as he fell through the ceiling and landed on the mattress. He then popped up and attempted a getaway that lasted about three seconds before officers caught him.
The suspect was arrested and booked on burglary and malicious mischief charges. In the end, police say his escape plan had a pretty low ceiling.
