A kangaroo has been safely returned to a Missouri petting zoo after spending a day on a walkabout.
Police say the animal escaped from a petting zoo at the Saline County Fairgrounds after a child accidentally left a gate open. The kangaroo remained on the loose for about a day before a witness spotted it and kept it in sight. Police, animal control officers and a bystander with exotic animal experience then safely captured the runaway marsupial and returned it to the petting zoo owners.
