Curry Barker’s next horror-comedy, Anything But Ghosts, has been set for a May 7th, 2027 theatrical release. Barker will direct, co-write and star alongside longtime collaborator Cooper Tomlinson, with Violet McGraw, Chris Reinacher, Bryce Dallas Howard and Aaron Paul also in the cast. The film follows fame-seeking would-be ghost hunters who encounter the real thing. Barker is coming off the breakout success of Obsession, which grossed more than $500 million worldwide on a budget of less than $1 million.
The first Game of Thrones feature film is headed to theaters in 2029. Game of Thrones: Aegon’s Conquest has been scheduled for June 6th, 2029, with A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms director Owen Harris directing. The movie will center on Aegon I Targaryen and his conquest of Westeros centuries before the events of the original HBO series. Casting has not yet been announced.
Disney is cutting several hundred more jobs, primarily in its human resources and technology departments, in the company’s third round of layoffs this year under Chief Executive Officer Josh D’Amaro. The latest reductions follow approximately 1,000 layoffs in April and several hundred additional cuts in July. Disney said in August that it remained focused on reducing costs to free up money for growth investments. The company employed about 231,000 people at the end of its 2025 fiscal year.
Good Morning America correspondent Will Reeve revealed that he was diagnosed with testicular cancer earlier this year and underwent two surgeries and two rounds of chemotherapy. Reeve, the son of the late Christopher and Dana Reeve, discovered a lump in April and was subsequently diagnosed with embryonal carcinoma. He underwent surgery in May and another operation in June after the cancer had spread to lymph nodes, followed by chemotherapy. Reeve said his September 8th screening showed he is now cancer-free.
