Former Home Improvement star Jonathan Taylor Thomas was arrested after an encounter with sheriff’s deputies during a traffic stop in Westlake Village, California, authorities said.
Thomas was a passenger in a vehicle whose driver was being investigated for driving under the influence on September 21st. Authorities said Thomas repeatedly exited the vehicle despite deputies ordering him to remain inside, interfering with their investigation. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department also alleged Thomas kicked a deputy in the stomach as officers attempted to detain him.
Thomas was arrested on suspicion of obstruction and public intoxication and booked at the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station. He was released about 34 hours later. Prosecutors had not filed charges as of September 23rd, though the case remained subject to review.
Thomas played Randy Taylor on Home Improvement from 1991 to 1998 and voiced young Simba in The Lion King.
