Fatal Plane Crash Near Parkdale, OR

On August 31, 2026, at approximately 11:31 a.m., the Hood River County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a possible plane crash near Old Parkdale Rd.  Additional Callers reported varying locations for the incident in the upper Hood River valley.  Deputies responded to the area to search, assisted by the Sheriff’s Office plane and personnel from the Parkdale Fire Department.

At approximately 12:32 p.m., the crash site was located near and orchard on Trout Creek Ridge Rd.  The two occupants of the single-engine plane were found deceased.  They were identified as James Crain and Scott Perry, both of Hood River.

The aircraft was secured at the scene pending arrival of investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.  Additional details will be released as they become available.
