Just kidding: Goats board and quickly jump off bus in Portland

The hooves on the bus went clop, clop, clop.

Portland’s TriMet transit agency reports that a pair of goats briefly hopped onto one of its buses. Security camera footage posted to the TriMet Facebook shows the goats board the vehicle following the human passengers. The bus door initially closed with the goats still onboard, but then opened again to let them out.

“Someone called 9-1-1 to report two pygmy goats wandering loose in the area,” the accompanying post reads. “Our team checked footage from our FX2 bus station cameras and, sure enough, found them. As they kept watching, they discovered the goats had briefly boarded a bus before hopping back off. The operator spotted them and reopened the doors. The goats wandered back toward the shopping center near the northeast corner of the intersection, where they disappeared from our cameras.”

The whereabouts of the goats from that point on remain unknown, along with the answer to many other questions.

“So where did they come from?” the TriMet post asks. “Where were they going? Did they have valid fare?”

It concludes, “Some questions may never be answered.”
