The kids are alright: Baby goats found in stolen car

Here’s an unusual entry into the police bleater, er, blotter.

The Kansas City Missouri Police Department reports in a Facebook post that two baby goats were found inside a stolen car.

According to police, officers spotted the vehicle, which had been reported stolen, and arrested the suspect on the scene. While the suspect was being apprehended, an officer kept hearing a noise he described as a “goat-sounding ringtone.”

Upon being questioned about the sound, the suspect revealed that he had two real goats in the car.

“With the suspect detained, KC Pet Project took in the goats, determining they were still babies and had not yet been weaned from bottle feeding,” police say. “They placed the goats with a goat-savvy foster family. After a 10-day ‘stray hold’ in the foster home, the family is adopting the goats.”
