Oregon Businesses Encouraged to Report Wildfire and Smoke Impacts

Oregon businesses experiencing physical damage or economic losses from wildfires or wildfire smoke are encouraged to report their impacts through the Oregon Business Self-Reporting Damage Survey.

As wildfires and prolonged smoke affect communities across Oregon, impacts can extend well beyond areas directly touched by fire. Businesses may experience physical damage, closures, reduced customers, canceled events or activities, lost revenue, or other disruptions associated with wildfire and smoke conditions.

The purpose of this survey is to document economic impacts to Oregon businesses and help determine whether affected areas may qualify for U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Economic Injury Disaster Loans. Completing the survey does not guarantee SBA assistance.

Why Your Input Matters

Information provided through the survey helps state partners develop a clearer picture of the scope and scale of economic and physical impacts across Oregon.

Business reports can help:

  • Identify economic and physical impacts associated with wildfires and smoke.
  • Document impacts occurring across affected communities and industries.
  • Inform state recovery efforts and planning.
  • Help state partners evaluate recovery needs and potential state and federal resources.
  • Support a better understanding of the broader economic impacts of the 2026 wildfire season.

Even if a business was not directly damaged by fire, reporting wildfire- or smoke-related economic impacts can help provide a more complete picture of how Oregon communities have been affected.
