Fridge is one cool cat.
Nakee Bullen tells CBS Minnesota that she lost Fridge, a three-year-old cat, while making a pit shop at a Colorado park camp during a road trip from Los Angeles back to her home in the North Star State. After an exhaustive search, Bullen had to make the difficult decision to drive on without Fridge.
“I felt like I left a little piece of me there,” Bullen says. “I was just crying because she wasn’t here with me and all I wanted was my baby.”
Bullen continued to check in with the Humane Society, but Fridge never showed up until 40 days later, when someone who’d found Fridge after spending over a month wandering the Colorado wilderness turned her in.
Naturally, Bullen immediately got in her car and drove the 16 hours to pick Fridge up.
“She’s a fighter. She’s a certified baddie now,” Bullen says. “It was the most amazing feeling. It was just absolute tears of joy.”
Fridge is now safely back home and healthy, and presumably will be allowed to eat whatever is in the kitchen fridge.
