No kidding: Deputies chase goat on ‘spirited 20-minute foot pursuit’

High on the hill was a lonely goatherd, but this goat was running amok on the ground in Washington.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office in Tacoma reports that a goat was spotted on the loose and darting in and out of traffic.

“One deputy even attempted to communicate with the runaway by speaking what he believed was ‘goat language,'” the department writes in a Facebook post. “Unfortunately, the goat wasn’t impressed.”

The goat was eventually cornered “after a spirited 20-minute foot pursuit through the neighborhood,” police say.

“The adventurous goat was transported to a local rescue farm, where it will be cared for while Animal Control works to locate its owner,” the post reads.

Perhaps they should’ve tried yodeling first.
